Cellar

Our wine cellar (Marani) is situated in the village of Shashiani, Gurjaani region, Kakheti.

Our wine is made by the 8000 year old traditional Georgian method of spontaneous fermentation in clay vessels (qvevri) which are buried in the wine cellar. When the fermentation processes have ceased and the wine has had time to settle, it is then bottled after about one year´s time.

Our Marani was built in 1898 in the village of Shashiani, Gurjaani region, by Nikoloz Bitskinashvili. During an elaborate renovation in 2017-2019, we added a new part for additional capacity as well as a wine cellar.
